Open House 2008

Every year in late spring, Hood River Alpine Vet Hopsital opens its doors to local grade school classes.

This year, Open House was held on May 9, and was a smashing success. The staff of Alpine Vet Hospital gave clinic tours and educational demonstrations to over 400 children, along with adult teachers and their helpers.

The children learned about pet dental care, internal and external parasites, X-Rays, and were treated to a demonstration on cat showing from one of our local cat 4-H groups.

We had a variety of animals for the kids to see, including alpacas, cows, chicks, and a miniature horse. We believe in the importance of teaching children about pet health care and safety, because they are the next generation of pet owners.
